Warrandyte South Pool Project
Traditional Pool Design
Set in the lush location of Warrandyte South, this project showcases a traditional design and minimalist landscape, reflecting the client’s dedication to preserving the native environment.
The pool, measuring 10 meters in length, 4 meters in width, and 1 to 1.8 meters in depth, was designed to both showcase the surrounding native gum trees (planted by the client) whilst providing entertainment for all generations of the family. It features a custom entry with three steps, including a large middle step that serves as a wading area for grandchildren. The pool is gas-heated and includes four concealed deck jets, ensuring year-round enjoyment.
The pool’s proximity to the home led to the creation of a spacious deck with a kitchenette, connecting the pool area seamlessly with the residence. The deck also reflects the client’s Australian lifestyle, offering a perfect spot for BBQs and watching the grandchildren while enjoy the swimming pool on a balmy summer afternoon.
Although rock was encountered during excavation, the project proceeded smoothly due to the careful choice of machinery and an unconventional access path to minimise environmental impact.
The pool’s blue pebble-like interior, surrounded by bluestone tiles and lush green grass, blends harmoniously with the native landscape of the Warrandyte South home.
