T Pool Design

Located on an elevated block in a new estate in Highton, Geelong, the swimming pool spans 8.0m in length and 2.0m in width, featuring two 1.2m entry staircases off to each side creating a ‘T’ pool design.

With a member of the family living with a disability, the desire to create a calming space that was safe, accessible and centre stage of the home for their family to enjoy was the focal point of the pool’s design and location within the newly built residence.

The custom designed steps provide easy and safe access to the pool from both sides which lead down to the tailored floor profile of 1.2m in depth throughout the pool. Deep enough to swim laps, the satin smooth non-slip nature of the Aqualux PVC membrane also allows the family to walk and even jog up and down the length of the pool with ease and comfort.

The beige base with grey fleck exposed aggregate surrounds create a natural contrast with the classic blue tones of the pool interior (Aqualux Casablanca). A metallic fleck present in the pool colour enhances the water’s reflection seen throughout the rooms of the home surrounding the pool area - this adding to the calming effect from within and outside the pool space. The use of grey in both the pool surrounds, safety barrier and pool fittings link the outdoors with the indoors complimenting the interior design of the residence.

It is important to note, the slab of the residence was designed and engineered with the pool’s close proximity in mind. Forward thinking has allowed the pool structure to be built very close to the home allowing the family to achieve the design aesthetic they desired.
